Spiral Wound Gasket with PTFE | Euroseal® Double Seal-P

The evolution of spiralwound gaskets

  • Double sealing element: camprofile inner ring and spiral part.
  • Resilience and reliability.
  • It does not require any specific line changes.
  • Resistant to chemical attacks, corrosion, and abrasion.

Spiral Wound Gasket with PTFE – Euroseal® Double Seal-P

Euroseal® Double Seal-P is the high-performance spiral wound gasket with PTFE, designed by General Packing Italy to ensure tightness and safety in the most critical industrial processes.

Thanks to its advanced structure, this gasket guarantees a double sealing barrier and excellent resistance to corrosion and thermo-mechanical variations.

Design of Euroseal® Double Seal-P

The Euroseal® Double Seal-P gasket is made of a stainless steel AISI 316L spiral and an internal camprofile ring coated with PTFE, which acts as the primary sealing element.

This configuration effectively protects both the spiral and flange surfaces from chemical attacks, corrosion, and abrasion.

Technical Operating Characteristics

  • Temperature: from -200°C to +260°C
  • Maximum Pressure: 100 bar

Technical FAQ

What is an Euroseal® Double Seal-P spiral wound gasket?

The Double Seal-P is a spiral wound gasket with a dual sealing system: a metallic spiral with secondary filler and an inner camprofile ring coated with PTFE that acts as the primary seal, protecting the spiral from corrosion, erosion, and chemical attacks.

What are the main advantages of using PTFE in the Double Seal-P?

PTFE ensures total chemical inertness, resistance to fire, and prevention of fluid contamination. It is ideal for applications with aggressive fluids and corrosive environments, guaranteeing durability and gasket reliability.

Under which operating conditions can the Double Seal-P be used?

  • Temperature range: −200 °C to +260 °C
  • Maximum pressure: up to 100 bar

This makes the gasket suitable for critical plants and demanding thermal or pressure cycles.

What is the difference between the Double Seal-P and a standard spiral wound gasket?

Unlike traditional spiral wound gaskets, the Double Seal-P integrates an inner camprofile ring coated with PTFE, which acts as the first sealing barrier and protects surfaces from chemical attacks and mechanical damage. This enhances overall performance and service life.

Is the Double Seal-P gasket certified for safety and emissions?

Yes. The gasket complies with VDI 2440, VDI 2200, and API 6FB standards. It is certified for fire resistance (Fire Test) and fugitive emissions, ensuring maximum safety for industrial plants.

In which applications is the Double Seal-P recommended?

It is ideal for chemical and petrochemical plants, refineries, power stations, and facilities handling highly corrosive fluids or exposed to severe thermal cycles. It is particularly effective in steam applications, where the PTFE coating protects surfaces from degradation and wear.

Are there variants of the Double Seal for other fluids or operating conditions?

Yes. In addition to the Double Seal-P (ePTFE), the following variants are available:
