High-Reliability Patented Air Cooler Plug – Euroseal® GP Plug
Euroseal® GP Plug is the innovative air cooler plug pante by General Packing and designed to effectively transfer the tightening torque to the sealing gasket.
Its unique, burr-free, self-centering profile ensures perfect gasket positioning, evenly distributing the load across the entire exchanger contact surface.
The Euroseal® GP Plug – Kap Seal system, available in all metallurgies, is the most effective solution for critical bundles, where thermal and pressure cycles adversely affect sealing performance. This sealing system has been tested by several Italian air cooler manufacturers, showing excellent sealing performance with tightening loads lower than the theoretical values.
Distinctive Technical Features
- Threaded plug machined from solid bar stock on CNC lathes to ensure flatness and burr-free surfaces.
- Thread checked with go/no-go gauge rings.
- Self-centering burr-free profile ensures precise gasket positioning and even load distribution across the entire sealing area.
- Custom-engineered and available in all metallurgies.
- Custom marking available on the GP Plug hex head (dimensions, metallurgy, torque values, exchanger ID…).
- Significant reduction in tightening torque: less mechanical stress on seats and prevention of seizing.
- For carbon steel plugs, PTFE anti-corrosion protective coating is recommended.
- Optional balancing hole to equalize pressure on the gasket and enable maintenance with the air cooler in operation.

- Sealing test at 200 bar with torque reduced from 600 Nm to 75 Nm.
- Helium (97%) sealing test at 300 bar and -40°C.
- Sealing test at 50 bar with a -50% reduction in minimum recommended torque.
- Mechanical validation test according to ASME VIII standards.
